Account Set-Up

Prior to submitting samples, please contact our accounting department to set-up your account.

Analytical Procedures

The generation of any analytical data is based in strict accordance to the pertinent EHS Standard Operating Procedure (S.O.P.). All analytical S.O.P.s are based on established referenced methods. The S.O.P.s may contain slight modifications to the reference method. Whenever a reference method is modified, this will be acknowledged by placing an M after the method number. All S.O.P.s, which contain a modification from the referenced method, shall be validated for compliance.

Billing and Payment Schedule

Invoices are generated for each sample group and are mailed with the hard copy reports. Account statements listing all outstanding invoices are mailed monthly. Payment terms are Net 10 days. We accept payment by check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Blanks

At least one blank should be submitted for each batch of air or dust wipe samples submitted for analysis. Blanks will be charged at the normal sample rate.

Chain of Custody

A Chain-of-Custody (COC) will be provided to each account preprinted with company name, address, telephone number, fax number and EHS client number. We do not require that you use this or any Chain-of-Custody form, but we do ask that if you use another format that it contains at least the information shown. The use of our form, however, does indeed make our job of servicing your analysis needs much easier and more efficient.

Confidentiality

All information supplied by the client shall remain confidential. Absolutely no COC information or client results will be released to third parties without written permission from the client.

Hours of Operation

Our Client Services Department is open from 7 AM to 7 PM (Eastern Time Zone) Monday through Friday, and 9 AM to 1 PM on Saturday.

Records Retention

All analytical reports and support data are retained for a minimum of ten years.

Reporting

Results are faxed or e-mailed as soon as the report has been reviewed. Hard copy reports are mailed once a week.

Rush Analysis

There is no extra charge for same day or Saturday analysis (for lead, PCM, and PLM).  Requests for rush analysis should be placed 24 hours prior to the receipt of samples, and is prioritized on a first come-first serve basis. All rush samples must be received no later than 10:30 AM. Fedex and UPS are the couriers that deliver to our area by that time. Faster than normal turn around is also available on metals and dust analysis.

There is a limited number of rush samples that the lab can analyze and report on the same day.

Lead - 250 (including wipes, soil, paint and air)

        PLM - 150

        PCM - 30

        IAQA - 20 (Non-viable analysis only)

Sample Retention/Disposal

Asbestos samples are archived for a minimum of 30 days. Metals digestates are held for 2 weeks. Unless previous arrangements are made to return samples to the client, samples will be disposed of in accordance with all applicable regulations.

Sampling Materials

Wipe material meeting ASTM specifications and 50ml centrifuge tubes are supplied at no charge. Pre-weighed filters cassettes for nuisance dust analyses are provided for $4.00 each. Pre-weighed glass fiber filters for TSP/PM10 analysis are also provided for $4.00 each.

Subcontracting

EHS does not perform the analysis of TEM samples in house. All TEM samples are subcontracted. TEM submittal forms along with shippping instructions may be obtained by calling customer service.

Prior to any other samples being subcontracted the client is notified and written approval is obtained to allow the transfer of samples to another laboratory. Samples are only sent to laboratories that are accredited by the appropriate agencies. This would include all sample matrices that are listed under the scope of accreditations held by EHS as well as the matrices not covered by any EHS accreditation. The results (reports) from subcontracted labs are submitted directly to the client in the original format provided to EHS.

Toll Free Number

For your convenience a toll-free-number is available: 1-800-347-4010

Turn-Around-Times

Lead, PCM and PLM have a standard turn-around-time (TAT) of 24 hours. TATs for all other analytes are listed in the price schedule. Rush analysis is available with prior notification at no additional charge. 24 hour turn around time is a good faith estimate. EHS will not be liable for delays in turn around time.
